Get some silver and check the rear for werewolves. It's fairly common for them to slumber in EK trunks......
On a side note, what do you mean by howling? like a loud metal to metal screeching noise? Or like wind noise? Specifics would be more help.

hmmm If my brakes were locking up I wouldve felt it but maybe it could be the wheel bearings.....hey do you know how much would they cost?

definatly a wheel bearing unless your back window seal is screwed.... i had the same problem going about 60 - 80 usually sets the thing off goto the wreckers, I'm in Ontario and got a quote $40 for the hub and bearing dont know if u can buy just bearings anymore maybe but chances are your old one will be a bitch to get out so its better just replacing the hub/bearing

Fixing a bad rear bearing is a straightforward DIY job. Just replace the hub unit bearing:
