so i've been searching around and i cant seem to find the proper Torque specs for my 01 civic dx, i dont have my manual so i cant check that, i've been told its 80 ft/lbs, also have been told that its 90ft/lbs.

can someone please let me know the actual spec, also if possible i need to get a socket for my torque wrench but i dont know the size, been told its 5/8 inch that i need.

any help would be great, thanks

I believe the standard lug nut requires a 21mm socket.

Its a 19mm socket.

I couldn't remember the number, my mistake.

I've never had a set of OEM lug nuts for my car anyways.

Don't forget anti-seize!
I used to break studs all the time from over-tightening my lugs, then a good friend of mine (fventura03 ) taught me to tighten them as much as you can with your hands, if you don't have a torque wrench. Don't stand on the tire iron and stuff, hahaha.

Can toyomatt84 or anybody confirm on the method posted by Harlowe. I want to do a tire rotation and I just want to know if that method is safe so i can do it. The only tool I have is the lug wrench that came with the jack in the Car. Thank you .

I'll confirm his method. Ideally, you'd want a torque wrench, but anti-seize and a tire iron will work nicely. You do not need to put all your weight into tightening the lug nuts. Just simple arm strength will suffice.
