2002 Accord Stereo Security Code
I have a 2002 Accord and my mechanic recently had to replace the passenger window motor. While doing this, the stereo system reset and asked for the security code. I have been just entering the code, but it does not work. Now I have exceded the 10 tries limit and I cannot enter any code at all. My two questions are:
1. How do I reset the stereo system so that I can begin entering codes once again?
2. How do I enter the actual code. Just entering the numbers straight up does nto seem to work. Is there any other buttons I need to press prior to entering the code?
Please answer ASAP, I'm leaving for a road trip in 3 hours and don't want to go with no stereo! Thanks!

Re: 2002 Accord Stereo Security Code (paddydisaster)
Entering random numbers will not work, of course. This is why it's called a code, and not "any random numbers you feel like entering". It's a theft prevention method to help deter thieves from wanting to steal it.
You will need to stop by the dealership to get the code. They may ask for the serial number on the back of the radio, or may just ask for proof of ownership of the vehicle. They will also be able to help you with resetting the radio since it is now locked from too many unsuccessful code entry attempts.

Re: 2002 Accord Stereo Security Code (hostile1)
I have the code, I never said I was entering random numbers... When I enter the code though, it still does not unlock the stereo.

Reset it by pulling the radio or killing the power again.
Screen should say "CODE" then enter in the keys one by one it should display the # on the screen you just pressed, after you enter in the code (5 digits I believe) it should beep and shut off. Turn it back on and you're good.
