Anyone have suggestions on the proper procedure for spark plug replacement on the Honda Fit Sport? I have never removed plug wires that have the coil attached.
Anything I should know before going ahead? I do not want to damage the coils.

Very easy to do when the engine is cool or cold. First locate the tops of the sparking units (coil packs) by looking down between the back of the plastic engine cover and the firewall and above the header.

Locate and take out one 10mm bolt from the back corner of each of the sparking units.

Gentility turn the sparking units to "crack" the friction holding the sparking units to the plugs and pull straight up from the plug.

You can do the next step two ways, first method is to leave the connecting wires in place and just set the unit down on the engine (Carefully) and take the plugs out one at a time (easiest way) and replace the sparking units as directed below.

OR pinch the connector on the wires leading into the sparking unit and wiggle off the connectors and take the sparking units out of the way (they are NOT location specific) then take out the plugs all at once.

Do NOT wipe the "white powder slime" off the ends of the sparking units it is put there for lubrication and to prevent spark crossover.

Unscrew the plugs but BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DROP ANYTHING NEAR THE HOLES as the Jazz/Fit head is made with the spark plug holes almost vertical and anything dropped down the hole will end up right inside the combustion chamber.

If you have some or can borrow some put a dab of dialectic silicone onto the tops of the new plugs to help keep moisture out and promote a good electrical connection. you can buy the silicone but it is pretty expensive if you only change plugs every so often and it's not absolutely necessary.

Another good thing to do is apply a LIGHT coat of anti-seize on the threads if you have some handy to prevent the plugs from seizing in the aluminum heads but again not absolutely necessary.

Replace the plugs after checking the gap. MOST new plugs come pre-gapped but if you have a gauge it's good to check them anyway.

Do NOT over tighten as it's fairly easy to strip the threads on aluminum heads.

Reverse the process and put everything back together.

Look at the tips of the old plugs and see if they are the same shade of color if they look the same you are done and enjoy your new plugs.

IZFR6K13 Is the number for stock heat range That FITS the FIT using iridum IX. what to ask for is stock number 6774.

Depends on your use when you change plugs. I enjoy working on my car so I use cheap plugs and change them every 5000 KM. But if you just like to enjoy driving and want to ease up on needed maintenance then go with the long life Iridums.

I'm just over 70,000 miles. I was going to replace my plugs whenever the KraftWerks Supercharger Kit is released for the A/T Fit.

Maybe go with a little cooler plug with the s/c.

I agree if you get any kind of FI setup you need to go at least one step colder. For the Iridiums it would be IZFR7K13 if they sell them
