vtec or non-vtec tranny....P20...A000???
Well I was off to meet up with a fellow h-t member to buy his tranny. Said its a ex tranny. When I saw it, the sticker vin number and I think it had a cast-in vin on the front that said P20, but when I went to go look at the other cast-in vin near the passenger side axle hole...I saw it said A000. I don't remember correctly, but above the A000, I think it also had P4A or something.
Want to know if this is a vtec tranny or not before buying it. I do know that A000 stands for non-vtec, but the sticker vin and cast-in vin said P20 is what confuses me.
Help before I buy. Thanks.

Re: vtec or non-vtec tranny....P20...A000??? (Ukrainamese)
the 92-95 ex/si trans will have the stamp B000. The P20 on the vin tag really has no meaning, the trans are S20 ( never got why honda labeled them both as an S20 and P20 on the same trans). So the A000 and B000 where the stamps that designate the different transmissions. So if you are looking for the trans that came with a vtec motor you will want one from a 92-95 civic EX/SI or the del sol SI with the B000 stamp on it
