Blowing blue smoke from my exhaust
my 1995 gsr is blowing blue smoke
what do i need to do to fix this?
should i not run my car hard?
how much is it gunna cost?

get a leak down and compression test. More than likely your not going to like the results and it will cost you a couple hundred bucks to fix. I wouldnt drive the car hard until you find out what needs to be fixed. Good luck

how much blue smoke? tons or just every now and again? if its constant, you got oil burning issues. if its random, its like the dodge vans, it shouldn't hurt to drive it like that.

Do a compression test. Blue smoke indicates oil, and since it's only during hard driving it could be the rings. If it's only during warm up, possibly the valve seals.

Yea but the oil rings going bad may not show on the compression test. I had the same issue and did a compression test and it was good across the board. It was indeed the oil rings though. High compression honda motors push oil through the pcv valve when they are running hard and it makes it smoke in the top end. That's why alot of guys put oil catch cans on their high compression or FI cars. If you go to the races alot you see alot of hondas smoking in the top end. And it's blue smoke not black so you know its oil burning. That reminds me I need to get an oil catch can asap.

Blue smoke on acceleration is oil burning due to blowby (piston rings). You should be able to see this with a compression and leakdown test. In order to fix it, you'd have to tear it down, more than likely overbore .020", and rebuild.

probably a sign of a worn out motor. new rings and some head work should fix it i guess maybe pistons too.

i was told from a shop that if you have blue smoke come out when ur at high rpm or when your in vtec, some of your valves seals are burnt. but im not 100% on that

And all I'm saying is there is an oil ring and there are compression rings. My compression was fine but my oil ring on number two cylinder was shot. There was burnt oil all over that piston, but it still showed solid compression. I'm now running a daily drivable all motor build with 11.8-1 c/r and it burns oil if I drive it hard. It's only got 15,000 miles on it and it doesn't burn it unless I drive it hard. I've done alot of research to find out my problem because I was worried that the rings didn't seat right or something was wrong but then learned about the catch can concept and how it blows oil through the pcv because of higher crankcase pressure.

I am a new user just join this forum today, even dont know fully where to write anyway.
I am here to get some suggestions from you guys.
15 days before i purchased HONDA CIVIC 2,2 diesel CTDI model 2007.I brought this car from another country and i have to register this car in the country i am residing.
As car is not gone through registration process that why my car is parked in my garage. Today after 3-4 days i just started my car to make it warm. so i felt my car is giving BLUE SMOKE, when car is idle there is no smoke at all but after some time when pressed paddle till 2500 rpm-3000rpm it started giving blue smoke, i tried many times and result was same. but when i am running car above doesnt matter at any speed 0km-160km there is no smoke neither blue neither black and engine is perfect.No extra noise nothing.
i read many post but still i am not sure what could be the problem( blue smoke). some people says chnage oil with high viscosity,add anti-leakage in engine. please somebody guide me what should i do?
main reason is that i have to take car for resgistration and there they will check smoke,if car smoke is high they will put hight road taxes on my car.
