ACT or Competition clutch?
Ive searched and there is not a topic directly comparing the two.
Im debating either to go with the ACT 6 puck sprung or the Competition sprung stage 5 clutch. Ill hopefully have around 450hp maybe alittle more pretty soon.
It will be daily driven and im not worried about pedal stiffness. Which one would be most reliable and have the longest life?
What would you guys recommend? Pros and Cons of each?
Thanks!

idk be careful with the competition stage 4 because i just installed one on my fully built b20vtec and its slipping..but the pressure plate is not still really just little stiffer than stock..i'd go with the act 6 puck unsprung its a sick clutch my friend has it on his hatch and damn..way better than comp in my opinion ..but every one has their picks

I had good luck with ACT. I had their xteme pressure plate with street disc and it was holding my 281whp/237tq d16 turbo with no sign of slipping. Pedal is really stiff but you'll get use to it.

How much the CC stage 5 with the upgrade pressure plate running for? It's either Competition clutch or LSDmotorsport clutch for me. I wouldn't mind doing ACT again but they cost too much.

I bought my Competition Stage 4 from this man and I don't regret it at all.

from researching act clutches and everybodys experience with them, just seems to me that they are either a hit or miss. so, im definitely going with competition clutch because 98% of what i have researched about other peoples experiences have been positive.

Re: (Boosted_B_Series)
I was looking for a clutch recently too.
I saw so many horror stories on the ACT.
After I had to choose between Clutch Masters and Competition Clutch.
Stage 4 CC got the win since it was abit cheaper than the CM. Haven't installed it yet, can't wait!

i recently bought a comp stage 4 with 6 puck
ive put about 400km on it so far..
i was worried about chatter but i have none..
its a bit overkill for my setup but i know i will be turning up the boost in a couple months
shifts nicely and confidently, the pedal is a little stiffer than stock but is not bad at all compared to what i expected

Screw ACT, Most people that have good luck out of them simply have week *** setups. </TD></TR></TABLE>
last year i was making low 400s with an act xtreme and 6 puck unsprung. i had 0 problems. the year before that i was making mid 300s with the heavy duty pp and again, 0 problems. that setup had around 30 passes on it, and somewhere around 15k miles pretty much daily driven.
this year ill be mid to high 400s, and i dont forsee any problems with the act xtr6 ive got
