I have a 98 honda accord 4 dr 2.3l vtec and was wondering what all would it need to swap to a h22 motor and how difficult is it. i know alot about cars but have never done a swap. what all would it entail. also it is an automatic would it be hard to swap to a manual trans.

it is not difficult but if you have never done a swap i would NOT recommend doing this one. a 6th gen accord like the one you have isn't typically swapped so you have to piece parts together.

as stated, do a search on this!

the reason i was thinking about swaping because my trans is starting to slip and i priced around for a rebuilt trans and to rebuild mine it would be about 1000 to 1600 to get done when i spend a few hundred more and get a motor and trans for that amount and put it in myself

Lol that was my reasoning too. The search will help but keep in mind that because of the obd II you will have to; convert to obd I along with the componets that includes (injectors etc.), or to stay obd II you would have to find a 96 prelude ecu or swap in a 97-01 prelude ecu and do an immoblizer swap (not popular and not much info on it.) That was the most trouble I've found so far BUT my swap isn't done yet. Converting to stick isn't hard to do. There's a very good write up in the FAQ, it'll save you some dough if you're capable enough to do it.

I was just about to make a topic on this too! I wanna keep it AUTO though! I've found some info on 6thgenaccord.com

Anyone know about keeping the auto tranny?
