Pop, Clank, sound from catalytic converter region
I'm post this for my bro (Dr. RAB01GSR) he's at work.
Cliffnotes:
Just recently it snowed in colorado, so it got cold down to 25 degrees. He has 01 GSR (obviously) He also installed a full Comptech I/H/E on his car about 3 weeks ago.
Now last night he heard a clank sound that you normally hear after you turn off your car, usually its somewhat quite and comes from exhaust components. However, last we both heard what sounded like that clanking sound except it was loud, about 10x louder than usually. And he just called me from his work and said he heard the "clank" while he was driving.
Any thoughts.
My silly guess
has to do something with the spring loaded bolts.

Are you guys certain that it is coming from the CAT area? Definitely check the bolts of course. Other than that, check to see how much clearance does the exhaust have against the heat shield, and check the rubber hangers. I'm no expert, but these are things I would check first.

We haven't check all that ****, because it's cold as ****. But tomorrow I'm going to go take a drive get everything hot and tighten the bolts all around.
