Default Best way to degrease a motor

My valve seal leaks oil onto the outside of the block
what is the best way to remove this?

go to the auto store and get this stuff called engine bright(engine degreaser), it will clen ur block up nice and everything else under ur hood

you should fix the problem first... degreasing will only get the gunk off temporarily--it's gonna come back.

yea they putting in new seals when i install my cams and valve train
i have a new head gasket set for it

It's looks like a Palmolive (same deep green too) container with a Windex head on it.

Don't use Engine Brite or any other engine degreaser on your car. It will discolor aluminum components and is very hard on the paint and rubber in your engine bay. Go to the grocery store and buy Simple Green. You can also get it at the autoparts store. It works wonders. Just spray like crazy, let it sit for 10 minutes and then hose down.
