I'm pretty sure it runs and drives fine. He brought the car to the Nashville Import Alliance meet back in July. From Memphis.
However, I think it was towed to Nashville, because it broke an axle or something. Nonetheless, it works.

Cool but not really impressive. He should have relocated the radiator to the back of the car, moved the engine up further so it wouldn't have been so far in the passenger compartment. There's dozens things I can name that I wouldn't have done, but all in all I've gotta give it to the guy anyway for actually doing it.

Re: (George Knighton)
Not to sound like a dick or anything to the mod, "George Knighton", but if he were linking to another forum that has all the pictures of the build up and comments added by the OP then why is this not ok? I'm just saying this, b/c as I remember the OP saying he didn't exactly want to have to repost all the pictures etc... Again, I'm not trying to be a thorn in anyones side.

You said $1000 into both cars?? Where in the hell did you get a Vette for $800? Or did I read that wrong? Oh, BTW, WELCOME!</TD></TR></TABLE>
lol....guy at my work wrecked it.....insurance never picked up.....we filed for the title....and i did some trading for it......actually bought it for $2000 but i removed a supercharger kit from a eclipse that the wholesaler didnt want at my work......sold it on ebay for $2000 and gave the money to my boss.....
oil sender.....lol....that was priceless.....
and about the motor being to far back.......i used the entire vette drivetrain.......front suspension, steering, rear suspension minus the subframe......i narrowed it 4 inches to fit under the car.....i wasnt going to spend and insane amount of time modifying the torque tube....or trying to redo the front suspension geometry and steering.....it works just fine the way it is......and yes the car will actually have awesome weight distrubution.....and i am trying to have this whole thing done in a 4 month time period......only working on it from like 7 to 11 weekdays and on the weekends.....it is just a toy....it got my mind off of my divorce.....gave me something to do.....

dude how does the axel fill out the rear? You could have one of the few chances to actually USE a widebody kit on a honda. estrictlyforeign.com has a sweet one. Seriously, how many honda owners can say "yea i had to get the wide body kit so the 315's would clear out back"

Thanks, i looked at it but for right now im gonna keep it looking stock as posible on the outside......but i do plan on putting some huge rears on the back......and something like that would probably let me do it....but it still a little ricey for my tastes.......thats why i narrowed the back of the car 4 inches.....so i could fit all of it underneath the back.....lol

Re: (Maldito X)
Maldito X, excellent, thanx
The pics speak volumes about Civettes skill as a welder, fabricator and an engineer. That is the lower suspension from the C5, how cool
The amount of subframe bracing is awesome... much love has gone into its design as well

yea man would have been easy to do if i wasnt using the entire corvette drivetrain.....you cant change the position of the motor when doing this...
there are dozens of things you need to know about a corvette before you put your 2 cents in.....
i bet you think the vette has a driveshaft too......
lol......just cant stand comments that have no point if the people that make them cant take the time to understand what they are looking at.....
im sorry im still a little pissed about this whole situation with the thread....

Well, I've posted all I could find. It's up to Civette from here if he decides to continue this thread and update, or just let it die, at least the members of H-T will have some closure about the progress of the car, and not just be left wondering wtf happened.
Sorry I couldnt go and type up all the technical aspects of the pictures, I dont have that much time or patience So I guess everyone will have to just pay attention to the details, and realize what the progress is and what the pictures are about.
Civette, how heavy is the car now? By the looks of it, you used 2x3x1/4 and 2x4x1/4 mild steel tubing. I might have the order of the dimensions wrong, but I'm sure you get the point. That's gotta be pretty heavy with all the braces all over the place.

You are going to have to let that go. There is no way to recover it. The moderator who did it understands that he acted precipitously, but there is no way to recover it.

Re: (hemichik)
Civette, my hats off to you bud!!! Your skill and commitment are awesome. I am sorry we have such ********* on this site.
I am anxious to see it all finished We don't have many fabricators on this site, just LEGO builders.
