Slammed door and window won't go up
Okay before you all flame me here, this post has nothing to do with Hondas, but sympathize with me. I posted here b/c since I am a trial user (but I lurk a whole lot) and I'm not allowed to post in the general discussion yet. I'll cut to the chase:
In a very dumb and heated arguement with my gf, I slammed her driver-side door really hard and now the window won't roll down. She drives an '02 BMW 325i. How much do you estimate it'll cost to fix?
Help me out!
/edit
Specifics:
- It was kind of working afterwards and when the window would roll down half way it would make this clicking sound.
- Soon after the window would not roll down from its up position.
- You can hear the mechanism going on but nothing happens
As you all mentioned I probably knocked it off track. Would it be safe to find some way to get a manual and disassemble the door and DIY it w/o messing anything up?
If I slammed it again would it retrack itself?

Re: Slammed door and window won't go up (cheezcheezcheez)
Im kinda wondering why you think a bunch of honda guys will know the cost of something for a car they have no experience with?
To try and answer your question it could be any number of things. You might have simply knocked the window off the track inside the door, you might have shattered the window inside the door, you might have damaged the motor that drives the window up etc etc.
The overall cost will probably be a lot seeing as how it is a beemer and everything costs more on "luxury" cars.

Re: Slammed door and window won't go up (LastDetail)
That happened to my civic, but it was manual windows. It had just popped out of the track... That might have happened to it- does it try to go up but get stuck? If if doesnt try to go up or down at all then a wire or connector came loose obviously. Just take it to the dealer and say it stopped working- they might just cover it under warranty, I doubt it though

same thing happened to 2 of my civics and they where both automatic windows. ended up being out of track. just had to take the door panel off and put it back in.
