I am in the market for engine management. I know everyone will say get what the tuner recommends, the thing is, is that i built my motor my self. I have a friend who has the hondata system and being around him while he tunes i know the program and understand what i need to do. the same with Greddy Emanage.

I have another friend who has the Power FC and thinks it made the most power from his Type-R, and it is easy to tune.

From reading here Crome seems to be the choice of champs.
And lastly the EMS ....well i dont know much but i heard it works well.

My car has a B18C , with P30 pistons, shot peened rods, CTR intake cam, Blox intake manifold, and bored throttle body, think it is 63-65mm. the car runs a 50 shot wet on various occasions. with tuning and management i think i can run at least 75-100 shot (direct port) with out blowing up as easy.

Which engine management is best for my setup and would work the best with out me tearing my brain apart to tune

Also please give your reasons on why you choice is better.....thanks

crome... basicly the same as hondata but easier to use.. make sure you get the ostrich with it.. its pretty easy to learn and pretty well documented on pgmfi if you are going to be doing it yourself.

but you're right... if you arent doing it yourself get whatever the guy thats tuning it tells you to get.

wat else do i need to tune with crome?

is it real time or once i burn the chip it is done....never program again

if you goto moates.net and get the ostrich and burn1 you use the ostrich to tune it, once you are done use the burn1 to burn the chip and you shouldnt have to mess with it anymore.

the ostrich makes for real time programming and your buddy w/the hondata can also use it.. makes tuning 10000000X easier

as of right now Crome would be my vote, but if you can wait a few months or live close to a tuner that all ready has it... eCtune is going to blow it out of the water.

the Ostrich is priceless when tuning, and the Brun1 works great for burning and reading.

with S300 i am sure he doesnt need ostrich....

Does Crome come with the chip and all the accessories needed to hook it up

Crome is a program, the chip, chipping parts and pretty much all the hardware are purchased independantly. (see http://www.tunewithcrome.com for details)

depends on the chip. one time writeable chips are just like the name implies, one time only. Most chips are re-writable though. the SST27SF512 is the normal chip being used now and they are electronically eraseable and writable more times than you will use for one car.

I run crome pro and as a novice I absolutely love it. Sometimes hard to get help if needed but John Cui has been very helpful in his busy nature.

You will need a chipped ecu
crome (just a software)
labtop capable of running it. I recommend minimums of 20 gig HD, 512 MB ram, 1.3 G processor or faster and a plus is to have 2 usb ports. One for ostrich/burn1 and one for datalogging (crome pro only) I use an IBM T30 and like that better than the Dell I have. Which is for sale and setup with crome pro already.

Burn1 and about 5 chips just because.
Also get the hondalog or hulog for datalogging and a good wideband O2 setup.

If you have money and don't care to spend it Hondata S300 but for the same money or less you can have crome pro and all the bells and whistles like said above.
