Default Does USAA insure motorcycles?

was just wondering...

I'm a gonna inusre my autos with them when my policy runs out. They are quoting me 40% less than my current insurance company.

It'd be nice to get a break on moto insurance too.

This is from the Official H-T Military thread.

I just became a member with USAA, so hopefully they have it! </TD></TR></TABLE>

I tried calling usaa, and they don't mention motorcycle insurance. just autos, property, etc...

I have USAA for my car and Progressive w/ my bike. Progressive is actually pretty easy to deal with. My bike had a flat tire and they got a tow truck out there for me within 20 minutes out in the boonies.

I use Progressive for auto insurance, but Dairyland for my motorcycle insurance. I'm not sure why my insurance agency didn't have me insure them with Progressive.

It varies through the states. If they can't get you a insurance through USAA, they outsource to the other insurance company.

I have Auto and Home Insurance through USAA. I called a couple days ago to check on Motorcycle Insurance and they transfered me to Progressive.

USAA used to insure motorcycles, they stopped about 2 years ago and started outsourcing.

I would bet it's due to the high motorcycle accident rate with military folks.

fwiw, when i called for quotes today, progressive gave me the best quote for both full-coverage (minus collision) ~$578/yr and for liability ~$276.

nationwide and geico were about $900/$500 and $785/$450 respectively
