How can i tell if my car has jumped timing?
ok... just trying to see how i can tell if it has?
i posted about how i messed my car up already. but here is a refresher.... going around 50ish was going into 3rd. slipped into 1st... car reved high.... put clutch back in... was limping home... got to stoplight... car died. went off the road... car will turn over but not crank......
took distro cap off... no fire from any spark plug wire. and no spark from coil.... but car will turn over.....
dont know about bent valves yet or if i jumped time either.

Check the timing by taking off the valve cover and upper timing cover. Put #1 cylinder to TDC with on the cam saying "UP". Then look at the crank pulley. The white mark should be lined up with the arrow on the lower timing cover.
From there trouble shoot timing.
