*****PLEASE HELP******CODE P0780******
Ok, so I have an 02 accoupe coupe V6 automatic and I got the check engine like on with code P0780 which turns out to be shift malfunction. Not sure exactly what that points to, but did a little bit of research since there isn't that much info on this subject here, but people have been getting similar problems but with different error codes, but same kind of symptoms. Hard shifting sometimes where gear would not shift normally, and some say its related to the shift solenoid on the tranny.
anyone know where this is located for an 02 accord coupe V6? I searched on the top housing of the tranny but couldnt really find anything. Is this even the problem?
any help would be appreciated, the car runs fine and normal, I reset the ecu (backup fuse) periodically since the CEL annoys me, really havent had time to fix the problems yet, but the CEL doesnt come on untill about 5-800 miles later.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

the problem is because your Diff bearings look like this
All the little metal parts form the bearings are scattered thru out the trans.
Check for extended warranty at the local dealer

We're so sure that it's our job.. But that's only coming from guys who work on Honda's for a living.. Like he said...Take it to the dealer and check for a extended transmission warranty. It usually covers the 98-02 Accords.. Good luck..

Re: (Honda Genome)
at this point it would be better just adding fluid when needed. you drain the fluid and all that loose metals and sluge is gone. then it shifts worse than now. buck up and do reman. or used trans. or keep adding fluid in hopes it doesn't crap the bed. which eventually it will. honda trained.

actually i just changed the tranny fluid today again, making it the second time, which made a huge difference. It didn't shift worse, so i dont know what you are talking about or where you are getting your references from. hopefully this fluid change or maybe the next will aleviate the sludge/crap in the tranny and fix the problem
