The keyless entry remote for my 2001 Civic EX is not working. When I press the lock or unlock buttons the lights flash, but the doors do not unlock. Also, to lock the drivers door, I have to pull out the handle and then push the lock down. I have replaced the battery in the remote, and the fuse under the hood, but it still doesn't work. Any help out there for this "semi-mechanically inclined" woman?

when you are inside the car, and flip the Lock Switch by the door handle does it lock? If not and you've checked all the fuses under ur dash and under the hood... it may be the actual lock unit that may be defective.

Have you had any other types of service done recently on the vehicle? If so maybe something was disconnected by accident.

Usually its a fuse labelled "Back-up" under the hood.

I had the same thing happen. I bought two remotes on eBay and one of them just stopped working. The light still lit up, but nothing happened. I then tried to reprogram for the key fob and no luck. I went and got my other key fob and it works fine. I'm going to replace the battery to see if when it runs low, maybe it only has enough power to light up the red flasher.

If it is indeed broken, just buy one on eBay and program it yourself. It takes all of 20 seconds.
