Exhaust smells like burnt popcorn, at idle smells sweet
Exhaust side smells like burnt popcorn, at idle the interior smells sweet.
Milled head around 11.8:1 compression, with Comptech 4-2-1 header, Spoon N1, 16 degrees timing at the distributor, B&M fuel modifier bumped to 52PSI, everything else stock. B18C5 motor.
Never like this until I started modifying.
Any ideas? Possibly a high flow cat is in order?

Mine smells like sulfer after a WOT trek into VTEC.
Other than that it just smells like chicken salad around town.

burnt popcorn is probably just a lil oil burning
the sweet smell though u might want to check out ur radiator cause usually a sweet smell is radiator fluid

What you're smelling is burning Rice. LOL
Seriously though, when one of my ricer friends put a huge can on his Civic, it smelled like fried doughnuts.

Edwin, my exhaust smells after use as well... I thought it is just because the unit is new. If you want, come over, take a SMELL... if it’s the same odor then it’s the exhaust and not the monster you have camouflaged under the hood.

A sweet "maple Syrup" smell to the exhaust usually indicates your burning coolant.
The popcorn smell on the otherhand....?

Thanks for the replies guys, I will have to check all the fluid levels tomorrow to rule those things out. No leaks anywhere to be found.
