Default k24 swap?

i just wanted to get someones input on this. My cusin wants to give me his his 2006 honda accord (k24a8 i think). just the engine no trans. i would then only have to buy the mounts, trans, and axles (lmk if theres more i have to buy). all this would go on my 94 Ej. my brother is willing to swap it for me. how much might this project cost me , and is it worth it.

the little stuff gets expensive. here was my calculation for cost on the swap. I guess to save money you might be able to put a K24 program in a reflashed ECU, but you'll really want the Kpro to mess with the settings.

K24A4 900
Tranny 600-1200
Mount Kit 500
Axles 100 base rsx
wiring 350
k-pro 1000
ecu 200
header 350

not worth it to straight swap a complete accord motor.. you need a kseries motor with a head that can accept 3 lobe cams..like the

k20a2 head from a rsx type s
k20z3 head from 2006 Civic Si
k24a2 head from TSX

But the accord block will not clear this head with stock internals... there are clearance issues with the pistons and the cams.. so you need a CRV block or a tsx block. These are the only blocks that will work with a 'real" vtec head.

Sure you can swap the accord motor and get it to around 200whp with cams made specifically for this motor, but it is not going to be easy. These motors have a factory 7200-7600 redline and the stock rods are weak.

Most people that swap the k24a accord/crv/element motors, do it for their car to be running while they are working on their primary motor.

Even if he gives you the longblock for free, you are going to need around $5000 to get it done right and that is with you doing the labor.

I have a k24a2 EG. The other day, I made a list of what I could potential make if I parted out each single piece of the motor and swap... came out to $8000... and it is using stock OEM parts.
