Switching from Conventional Oil to Synthetic Blend.
Hey guys, I have a few questions concerning the oil I'm about to put in my F23A4. Since 25k miles (There's currently 63k miles on the block), since I've had it that is, I've put just regular old oil in the car. My last oil change I put in Castrol GTX with an K&N Oil filter. I was wondering whether there would be any problem with switching to Castrol GTX Synthetic Blend and whether it would cause any problems to my engine? I plan on switching to Full Synthetic once I've put in Synthetic blend for about 20k miles or so? Is this ok?

screw the blend and just swap right to full synthetic. there is no issue with doing that.
most "blends" are like 80% conventional oil anyway, a marketing scam.

ONLY if the motor is fully broken in
you don't have to step up with synblend, and yes B's right about syn blend, the ratio is around 8:2 if not lower.
most car doesn't need syn. oil, the dino oil today is so much advance than old oil formula from past.

Yes, it is safe. I'm not sure why you want to spend more money than you have to but, yes, it's safe.

I am using Royal Purple 5w30 full synthetic, but that's because I've got a built motor and boost the **** out of it. I ran it on dino oil for breakin, started w/ 10w40 for 3 oil changes (1st one within 20 miles!), went to 10w30, and finally after 3k+ miles changed to full synth.
