Default Replacing the starter 1999 Honda Accord

I've misplaced my shop manual and need to know how to replace the starter... I can only see one bolt, which i cant really even get to. Can someone give me a basic rundown on this?

1. Remove the battery and battery tray.
2. Remove the lower radiator hose.
3. Remove wiring harness from starter bracket.
4. Label and disconnect the wires from the starter motor solenoid.
5. Remove the 2 bolts that mount the starter to the trans. They are 180 degrees from each other, so the other bolt is on the exact opposite side of the one you see. Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the starter free.

Also, make sure the mounting surface on the block is clean before you install the new starter.

Ahh, yeah, forgot to mention that kind of thing. For me I just instinctively clean everything... I swear I'm borderline OCD or something, because everytime I do anything it has to be clean and orderly. It tends to make car repairs and maintenance a bit more time consuming.

Hey,

but being neat and orderly can also save you a headache later on...

for example,

i antisieze EVERYTHING, and i torque to spec...if i dont know what to torque it to, i look it up

Doing this to exhaust / turbo parts helps a LOT.

so does zip tying just about every dam thing that's loost

Will removing the lower radiator hose cause the coolant to drain?

lol Of course it will. What do you think is inside that hose ?

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. You just need to loosen it up and drain the coolant out of the radiator into a drain bucket. Don't let it drain on the ground as the coolant is poisonous to animals. Odds are that that hose is going to be old. This would be a good time to replace it. Don't think about putting the same coolant back in. Just get another couple of jugs of coolant from Walmart cheap.

My car is having the same issue, does anyone have the diagram or detail pictures of the starter? pilladd's instructions are pretty vague without pictures. Thanks.
