Default h22a vs h22a4

someone told me that the h22a is better than the h22a4 even though the a4 has like 10hp more and least 10lbs of torque as well so how is the h22a better? is that true?

The h22a4 has 10 more hp than the h22a1, not the h22a. The h22a is the jdm motor, which has 200 hp as well (I THINK), but a little higher compression than the USDM.

okay okay okay...well I was in a hurry befor I posted that last one...I was thinking on a whole differnt topic or wtf i honestly don't know what I was thinking.....any way I have a H22a..The only difference I can see is that my JDM block has a slightly higher compression that the USDM H22a4

Now the transmisson of the h22a4? I looked into seeing if I could use the A4's tranny because the SH has stock LSD......well I can't and what I heard of was because of the ATTS and corrisponding hardware............blah blah blah this will teach me to proof read my post so I'm sure they make sense

Are ther any other differences??? they started making the H22 in 91 in Japan 92 in the US mine is from a 93(JDM).......

now as we all know all motors are rated to the crank

Rumor has it that VTEC stands for "Vehicle That Eats Children."

Really though, if you want to know which one is "better,' look around in the esentials or do some searches on threads that compare them. You may find that it's quite subjective...beyond stock HP.

Wrong. I have an H22A4 in my 91 Accord. I DO NOT have ATTS and Not all Preludes with this motor were type SH.There is no more a limiation on building this motor than any other H22

Just curious... because if this is true...
H22 Prelude VTEC 92-96 200 161 10.6:1 87 90 DOHC VTEC 2157 JDM
H22A Accord SiR 94-97 190 152 10.6:1 87 90 DOHC VTEC 2157 JDM
H22A Prelude SiR 97-01 200 161 10.6:1 87 90 DOHC VTEC 2157 JDM

If they all ahve the same compression... why does the Accord SiR have less HP/Tq?

Thanks

okay, well I answered the question at the very beginning of the thread, then everyone else had to jack it up.

For the record, for everyone that's calling out the "noobs", just know that I've been around preludes for a LONG time, even though my post count doesn't show it (yet). I was on PO.com for 4 yrs., then got out of this whole internet thing for a while, now I'm back. I'm just not too keen on h22a specs and ****. Ask me anything h23 though, and I'll tell you. lol

hahahaha

Too many BS statements in here, even I'm confused now!!

Right, some are ATTS and some aren't. Easiest way to identify these blocks is by looking at the oil filter location and angle.
