Default How to identify a Zex / Comp cam?

I bought a cam from a guy here on H-T. It should be part #105300 (for a d16y8 motor).

The box had the correct number on it, but the cam didn't. The only number stamped on the cam was 05008.

I don't know what that means. Everyone is telling me that 105300 should have been stamped on the cam. Is that right?

Also, out of curiousity, does the presence of rough casting metal in between lobes indicate that a cam is billet?

Hmmm... nothing? No one has one lying around that could check for me?
