Ive been getting TONS of PMs about the header test i did. Tunerzines article is down, so im just gonan repost all the info, so people can read it instead of sifting through 24 pages of the original thread.
TEST ENGINE:
JDM B18C Integra Type-R STOCK
PLACING:
1st RMF NARROW 4-1 185.61whp/128.49TQ
2nd SMSP Prototype 4-1 184.70whp/128.98TQ

6th Hytech Production 180.63whp/124.19TQ
7th DC JDM 4-1 174.24whp/124.04TQ
this should let you know what header is what.
DC SPORTS 2.5in vs HYTECH production header (same as RAGE)
Hytech vs SMSP 4-2-1 (sparks style)
SMSP 4-2-1 vs DTR B-UNIT header (similar to HYTECH and RAGE)
SMSP 4-2-1 vs PROTOTYPE SMSP 4-1
SMSP 4-1 Prototype vs ANR with Merge collector
SMSP 4-1 Prototype vs RMF Narrow 4-1
Now here are the individual headers VS the RMF
RMF narrow vs Hytech/RAGE
RMF narrow vs SMSP 4-2-1
ANR HEADER w/MERGE vs HYTECH/RAGE
PLACING:

Re: Header Test Repost
Thanks to VtecKidd and Johnzm again for taking the time to do this test. I'm sure they learned a bunch about the politics of header testing on H-T.
Here's a couple more graphs that I got from VtecKidd from this test.
HP vs AFR
SMSP 4-1
SMSP 4-2-1

They just show the AFR versus HP for each of my headers. I think it's clear that there was a lot of room for improvement, however the amount of tuning time available was limited.
BTW, my 4-1 doesn't really like be run open, the dump tube must be tuned for length. Here's a graph of the same 4-1 header on my B20VTEC for Honda Challenge H1. One is with a 60mm/2-1/2" exhaust (red line-no dip present) and the other is run with an open header (blue line-same dip as in the above test).

Re: Header Test Repost (SMSP)
yeah we had 8 headers to test, and time was limited, each header could have seen lots more tuning time but the day was 10hours long already.
this was just a comparison, we did maybe 8-10 pulls on each header, and got the a/f as close to 13.5:1 as possible. there were spikes here an there. but i was satisfied with the time we had

This is just one header test on one motor i can easily see all the name and numbers flipped up side down on another application. A wise person would use this test as a reference tool and make a knowledgeable decision on what will fit his need...
just something to think about..

Re: Header Test Repost (Six Sigma Racing)
this is true, in this test it won, however, i have seen other test where other names on that list have been better off.
TEST IS A GUIDLINE, not a absolution.
BTW id like to see what the street sweeper header would do

Are you a retailer, and do you sell any of these headers?

Re: Header Test Repost (George Knighton)
now im not a retailer. i do not sell any of the headers listed nor am i a AUTHORIZED DEALER for any header.
if someone needs an RMF header , ill put the order through, but ask Import Power House, i get no money off.
why, is someone upset George?
