With a properly designed catback (like hytech and smsp), you won't lose much whp over a side exit.

Downsides of side exit?

1. LOUD

2. LOUD

3. OBNOXIOUS

4. LOUD

5. Draws too much unwanted attention from ricers, cops, etc...

6. You may not pass the dB limit at tracks or autox events you would otherwise wish to attend.

That being said, it's cheap to do and the performance gains are there:

(you can kinda see it here...)

I daily drive it occasionally, and earplugs are not optional...

I'm soooo over it.

AND I have two inline resonated sections in the b-pipe.....

I will do whatever it takes to pass tech at the next event, however.....

I tried to put a hytech twinloop can on it - but it wouldn't fit under the car (no room/ too low).

You should do what Chris/rodney did, he has a modded Fujitsubo RM01 that has a turn down where the axle back connects, so he usually runs it open from there incorporating the resonator. And when noise is an issue he has the Fuji can to slap back on. His car sounds damned mean with just the turndown.

i have a 2.5'' side exit on my ef hatch also, basically the same thing black R has (2 resonators, dumps behind pass. door).

its not that loud.... only because the car is blessed with a super 60 T3 snail.

NA, it would be a headache waiting to happen every time i drove it.

mine does resonate on the highway though..i will be running a pipe all the way back this winter..3'', out the pass side, like a newer civic.

i wouldnt recomend it for a NA setup at all.

I've had it for a couple of years.....

I wouldn't mind except for the fact that I can't run at all of the autox events I want to.....

j00 rang?

mine wasnt that loud, but it does have a huge resonator and i only run a puny d-series. (dont know if that matters). As far as sound deadening,etc...I only have a rhino lined interior.

2.5" , 36" resonator, dumps out about 8" from passenger rear tire. on my 90 it fit like it was supposed to be there.....only welded on one hanger.

:shrugg: its definately RDM (redneck domestic market)

Most people have more than one vehicle, so their "project car" never sees inclement weather.
