Default new turbo,no fitting for wastegate line, what the????

sup guys,
i just got my garrett turbo in the mail today. took it out and was looking it over and i found something missing. usually, the compressor housing on the turbo will have a threaded hole to screw in a fitting,to connect a hose from the turbo to the wastegate. without this hole,or a way the wastegate can see boost, the wastegate wont work. what can i do,or what do i have to do? i know others have ran into this problem, becasue garrett turbos are common. if you dont understand me let me know, ill try to explain it more.

Just get the vacum feed from the Intake Manifold

you dont want to use that anyway. get your vac/boost signal from the intake manifold.

you can drill and tap it like i will be doing to my t3 t67, or have a machine shop do it they shouldnt charge more that 10 bucks for it, but if you want to do it yourself, it is a 21/64ths and then a 1/8npt.

some turbos come like that but it isnt hard to drill and tap.

can someone explain to me the difference of why to catch the boost signal from the manifold as opposed to the turbo discharge like i have been doing for the last 10 years, every buick and honda i have built has had the boost signal from the turbo discharge.

really? you dont want to connect it to the compressor housing? why may i ask? ive always heard of running it there, thats why i ask,ive never heard of taking it from the manifold. but sounds like it would work the same.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SpoolnByYou &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">really? you dont want to connect it to the compressor housing? why may i ask? ive always heard of running it there, thats why i ask,ive never heard of taking it from the manifold. but sounds like it would work the same. </TD></TR></TABLE>

you would see about a 2 psi difference from there to the inake manifold. what is if any the benefit for doing this? i still use the compressor housing for my boost signal.

well which method would be better? running it to the compressor housing or the intake manifold? and if i ran it to the intake manifold,will/could i run into some boost spike problems?
