Spark Plugs are white --> what is my engine doing?? why?
ok.. here is a pic of my spark plugs 4-3-2-1
the 4th one is more yellowish.
1, 2, & 3 are all white.
I am burning a little coolant over a month or so of time. would that be the cause of the 4th spark plug being yellow?
and why are the other 3 all white? why is my engine running hot?
I am going to have my timing checked and possible a leak down test.
any suggestions/help???
oh ya. 92 integra gsr b17a1

I dont think that variation of color is coolant, how do you know your burning it?

Re: (turner7205)
because over a period of time i loose coolant, and i am not leaking it.
the pic does not show it that good, but the 3 are completely WHITE.
the engine is stock. with a AEM CAI.

to read plugs you need to do a full throttle pull, and immediately turn the engine off, put it in neutral and pull over.
if you drive normally, or idle, hondas will run lean, whichi s how they are supposed to run. that means that you WILL pull plugs out and they will be white like yours.
what makes you think you are burning coolant? Personally i would say if you have very slight amounts of coolant missing it is beause a pinhole leak in a hose, that is FAR more likely than burning it. Or it could jsut be evaporating out of the coolant overflow specially if you live somepalce very hot.

When coolant burns, it leaves white, chunky deposits on the plugs. Yours just look lean. #4 looks like it may be missing sometimes. Could also be white from high combustion temp. Have you checked all the small coolant lines around the intake? Small coolant leaks dont necessarily hit your driveway. Alot of times the leak only occurs at driving RPM when the pump pressure is high enough to squirt the coolant out. It can blow out on the road or evaporate on a hot engine block or exhaust. As long as you don't run too low on coolant, leaks don't explain your hot engine temp. You need to check your air flow(fans) and water flow through radiator and block.
