Default Why do my spark plug wires keep popping up?

Like the topic says my spark plug wires on the #2 and 3 cylinder keep popping up. What could cause this? The wires are less than a year old (Jackson racing). I just checked my spark plugs and they are tight but have been removed a few times so could the gasket be worn letting air out and pushing the wires up or could it be a problem with the ignition. Should the coil spark when the spark plug wire to the distributer is removed. Or is it that I have to tighten the ends of the wires so they stay on better. The wires pop off after only about 5 min or driving.

If they pop off at the distributor side, just clean the ends of the distributor and use a zip tie to secure in place.

i think he means they pop off at the spark plugs. im not sure what causes this but i noticed it happened to my car once. i pushed them back in and theyve been fine ever since. every 5 min is definitely a problem. consider this a bump. id like to know what causes this as well.

go to pep boys and buy a gel for your spark plug wires...they fix this problem...make sure you don't apply too much or else you will never be able to remove your wires from your plugs.

That's the problem right there. if there not oem then don't expect them to fit like oem. i know a lot of guys have this problem with the msd wires, just get some zip ties on there and you should be fine.

Most of the aftermarket spark plug wires for hondas have fitment problems.
NGK is company that makes the OEM ones for HONDA and the fitment on the aftermarket NGK wires is the best, just like OEM. Thats why most of the HONDA ppl use the NGK blue ones, is verry good quality, best fitment unlike any other brand and they are cheep compared to other brands like MSD.

Well it looks like the problem is fixed. I put in new spark plugs and it seems to have fixed the problem. When I pulled the Old (10,000mi.) NGK iridium plugs on the 2 cylanders where the plug wires were popping up, it looks like oil was seaping through near the white part and the metal on the bottom possably forced out by the compression. It looks like air was comming through the bottom of the plug. Just a guess also my plugs would screw in and thenquickly stop and I couldnt tighten them any more not like the give with a new plug. It thisnt the problem I will upupdate but it has been fine for 50miles where before they were popping up after 1 mile before.

sometimes the washers on the plugs don't do their job and seal properly.

I knew air was getting by those plugs

Yep. This used to happen to me on my Teg. One day I noticed the oil that was down in the plug holes was bubbling a little bit too, lol.
