Output for tach on ecu of B18c?
I searched. Didn't find it. I don't trust any other section on Honda-tech for "technical advice". Trying to put in a autometer big tach. Where do you get your signal? I am assuming the ECU which is what I did with my supra for a shift light. Any help appreciated.

Is it an OBD1 Engine/ECU? I *belive* the signal is off the distributor.

Re: Output for tach on ecu of B18c? (.RJ)
Hey R.J. according to the previous owner the car has a OBD1 Ecu. I also have Hondata (unknown model number) I looked on it to see what outputs it had and "rpm" was not one of them. Any help appreciated. Trying to mount one of those monster tach so that I quit shifting based on how long the tach needle has been pegged at 8,000revs and stopped before I shift.

for 92-95 civic's i have always heard it is the blue wire attached to nothing in the engine bay in the drivers side right next to the fire wall.
I have seen 2 or 3 tachs hooked up here and they worked

Done and thanks. Blue wire, green wire, hell I will cut them all. I think I have another Hondata "box" right under the hood on the driver's side. My car has one of those Kenji wiring harnesses so which wire is which may be a bitch. I am a poet and don't know it.

On my 94 GSR there is a blue wire on the firewall area near the master cylinder that is a tach signal. I never looked to see what the one is to the guage cluster since that was so easy to get to and use.
