Help, Rattle or buzzing coming from under car, heat shield?
Ok I did a quick archive hunt to find out if some of the symtoms were happening to my car. Ok at 3000-3300 rpms a buzz will be produced either during acceleration of deceleration. It has the sound of a circular saw going through wood. Thats exactly how to describe it. I just bought a full exhaust, header and cat and am waiting to have it put on. Will this solve the problem. Obviously if it is the cat, it will, but if its not the cat, what could it be?
Thanks
Thanks

ok, is it coming from the bottom of the car or under the hood?
If it's the bottom, then it's the cat convertor head shield - and if it's from under the hood, then its the shield for your header.....I had problems w/ both, both were loose so I fixed it. Oh, also, you might need a washer for your cat convertor. It goes between your header and the cat convertor. Mine wore out so I needed one. Tell me if that helps

Yea. I would definately check your heat shields or other exhaust componets. The vibration for the exhaust can make it sound horrid.
I believe its multiple 10mm bolts. I don't even have mine on anymore.

Well, ur not changing the IM and the cat converter right? If not then just tighten them but if ur going to replace everything then u might as well do it on Sunday.

Re: (SupersonicBlueGSR)
I have had this exact problem before (twice) and most likely the resonator on your midpipe is broken. I have had to replace this twice on my civic in the past, and the symptoms were dead on to what you are describing. I was able to fix it by replacing the midpipe with a stock one. HTH
