How hard is it to install a cam gear?
I just picked up a Hayame cam gear and I want to put it on, but I don't want to start something that I can't finish. Anyone done an install on a 96-00 Civic EX and got advice for me or suggest that I don't try it myself...?

i personally heard that it is a lot of trouble and its pretty difficult if you have no experience (like me! haha) you gotta take off your drivers side wheel and a bunch of stuff and you gotta worry about messing up the timing and other stuff like that. on the other hand if there was someone to help you do it it shouldnt be so bad...or you can pay the mechanic a grip of money to do it for you hehe

Don't bother, unless you have a camshaft to go with it Honda cams are already tuned to perform the best with the stock camshaft. i had mine done and had to leave it at the stock setting when i went to tune it on the dyno. good thing i got it for christmas or i would have been pissed off

hey Anthony's EK:
got this from the 1992-1995 civic and del sol HAYNES automotive repair manual. (page 2A-12 chapter 2 part A engines).
timing belt and sprockets-removal , inspection and installation:
removal:
1. disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. place blocks behind the rear wheels and set the parking brake.
3. loosen the lug nuts on the left front wheel and raise the front of the vehicle. support the vehicle securely on jackstands.
4. remove the left front wheel for easier access to the end of the crankshaft
5. blah blah blah and so on and so on...

haynes suck.
http://www.helminc.com
haynes are cliff notes of the bible. (helms)
and it makes it easier to take off the crank pulley with the wheel off but its not necessary.
