Default brakes locking up

I have a '92 honda accord lx. I have had problems with my brakes locking up (i.e., when I'm driving and stepping on my brake pedal, each time I step on it, it gets stiffer and stiffer until you can't even step on it anymore and the brakes are locked so that if I'm stepping on the gas, the car won't move even an inch). After I shut the car off and let it cool off for 30-45 minutes, the brakes are fine again. I took it in to Firestone and they changed the master cylinder, hose, and the calipers and it is still acting up. Does anyone know what's the diagnosis? People I have talked to ask did they bleed the brakes? But that should be standard procedure. Any help would be much appreciated.

wow they replaced a bunch of things... well first off i would get the money back or store credit since what they replaced did not fix the problem ....when u say they replaced the hose which hose ???? or do u mean hoses like brake hoses all 4 ,,,,did they chk the rear brakes at all?? somehing could be hanging up back there ,,, 1 more thing if the booster goes bad it would give u a hard pedal but i have never heard it to make brakes lock up ..

yeah, they sure did go right into it. Did it act differently at all when you got it back? Did firestone's mechanic even try driving it?

I first changed the master cylinder because the brake pedal was sinking to the ground. After that is when the brakes started to lock up.
Firestone did take it for a test drive and they couldn't replicate the problem, but they claim it was the brake hose. So they changed the 2 hoses in the front. However, the problem occurred again when I took it home. You usually have to drive it for about 30 minutes thru the city because that requires a lot of brake usage. then u can slowly feel the brake pedal getting stiffer and stiffer. Then when I took it back in again, they test drived it and this time replicated the problem and said it was the calipers. They did this for free. However, yesterday it locked up again. It is the front brakes because the smoke and smell of the brakes burning is coming from the front.

well amigo u got a brake master cylinder problem you probably put a cheap autozone 1 get a master from honda ...................the way u wrote it u made it sound that they replaced the master cylinder if i had know you had replaced it previousely i would have told you to go there,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i have seen this happen a lot with many cheap aftermarket brake master cylinders the push rod is way out of adjustment ,,all they got to do is readjust the brake master push rod i bet that will fix ur problem but i would still put a honda master cylinder.......
oh and i still get my money back from firestone for misdiagnosing it

did you make sure u used the right master cylinder? if you have the wrong one thats slightly off, it can cause your brakes to be stuck, this is because the push rod lengths are slightly different
