32 to 1 should work. If the previous owner ran it with less oil, you could run it lean, so be wary. What kind of oil are you using?

i ran 4oz of oil to 1gal of gas, and i would suggest hitting up a cycle shop and picking up some maxima mc1, ive never had a problem with that oil.

Yeah, I've always had good luck running 32:1 (4oz to 1gallon). As far as oil, I've run just about anything from just generic outboard engine oil to Honda HP2. The biggest difference is how clean it will burn, thus reducing the 'black spooge' in the exhaust ports and head pipe. Just before I sold the 2-stroke I was using Mobil MT2X or something, found right at Autozone or the like (comes in the little container). It's a synthetic oil and seemed to burn really well.

Here's link to a ratio calculator where you can just enter the gasoline amount and the ratio you want to run and it'll return the amount of oil needed.

If it's rich in terms of oil to gas ratio then the plug may foul easier. It won't dramatically affect performance, unless you get crazy lean or rich. I wouldn't go any richer than 32:1. Alot of people will run 40:1, which to me is a bit lean.

Running rich on the air to fuel ratio is what will really hinder performance. I imagine if you bought the bike in FL then it's jetted accordingly. When I moved here from PA (800ft to 5000ft) my bike ran like crap. Not enought oxygen in the air and I dropped 2 main jet sizes and 2 pilot jet sizes.

If a carb is jetted in for maximum performance on a 48:1 mixture, there is a risk that you could damage your engine by using a 32:1 mix. When you run more oil, the engine gets fed less gas. The way most carbs are jetted this is rarely a problem, but it is still something to be aware of.

I've heard of people running any where from 100:1 to 20:1 so there is a big range there.

32:1 should be fine. I run that in my 00cr250.
You can always try and then see how it runs on that.
