Could it be that you might need new axle shafts? I had the same problem a few years ago with one of my accords that I had back then and it turned out to be the axle shafts that need replacement.

Could some WD-40 get rid of the squeek? Is it the same kind of squeek as a door would make?

You could have a bad clock spring or cable reel. This is the part that keeps all the wiring behind the steering wheel from getting all mangled up when you turn. Its fairly easy to replace.

are you signaling when you hear it because when i signal for a turn and i turn the wheel in that direction it makes the noise. i think it is normal because it just might be a pressure thing to tell the blinkers to turn off automatically.

well if its clicking i guess theres nothing wrong with it because things click in real life and its ok. If it was making like a really bad noise then id say it is bad. is the clicking noise really loud and noticable?

You have got to be smoking crack if this is how you look at things.

Like I stated before you probably have a bad clock spring or cable reel. These are the same parts just to clearify.

First off, does it sound like it's coming from inside the steering column cover or somewhere in the engine.

If it's inside the cover it's probably as stated before. If from engine bay probably CV joints. Look under the car near the front wheels for some rubber boots. Are they torn or is anything leaking from them?

If Inside Follow the Steering wheel down there should be a boot with a u joint inside. If i remember it should be right behind the brake pedal. That could be whats causing the squeaking. Just lube that up and u should be good. But as deserthonda said is it comin from the bottom or top of the steering wheel column.

my cruise control works fine

i hear it in my car at the wheel, not outside, but if i have the music on, i dont hear anything

so bascially take off the cover where the ash tray is, and look up?

[QUOTE=devilpuppy]i've noticed that when i turned my steering wheel (in either direction) it clicks.

Don't worry devilpuppy, you're not crazy, or alone for that matter.
A lady came to the dealership recently complaining of the same clicking noise in her steering column. I tried to brush it off as normal, but she insisted the noise wasn't always there. So I checked another accord, same year, and sure enough, it did not click. So I removed her steering wheel, and found that the turn signal switch was making noise. Apparently, Honda puts some heavy grease on the cancelling cam in the turn signal switch to dampen the clicking noise when you turn. In her car, the grease had dried up, so it got noisy. I put some heavy grease on it, and send her on her way happy as a wet duck cause the clicking was gone.

He's not crazy... I experianced the same issue as he did during the winter months. Every time you turn the wheel about 15 degrees in either direction, it would make a subtle click, which gets annoying after a while.

Luckily my issue was resolved by the temperature steadily getting warmer in my area, so I think the grease concept is where it's at.

^--- This man is a geniuse. I bought my 96 accord a yr. ago and it has that clicking noise (sounds like the signals are turning off at the slightest turn). and based on what he said .. I know the grease in my seats has dried up so I bet the grease in there did tooooooooooooo .. im gonna go fix it ASAP!
