Headlight reminder beeper

Headlight reminder beeper
I have a 2002 Civic. Not too long ago the headlight reminder beeper stopped working. My wife for whatever reason cannot remember to turn them off and it almost resulted in a dead batter 300mi away from home. I assumed it was a fuse. I checked the user manual (and did a search on the forums) but did not see any fuse slot title anything remotely close to beeper or reminder. I could check every fuse, time consuming as it may be, but I wanted to ask here first. Anyone else experience anything along these lines? Thanks.

Re: Headlight reminder beeper (longbeachpurplecivic)
I've left my headlights on twice, both times the battery died just because I don't have that reminder thing. Oh well, doesn't happen to me anymore.

it's an easy add-on... go to radio-shack and get a simple 12 volt beeper and wire one end to the parking-lights (+12 when lights are on) and the other to the dome-light switch for the door (grounds when the door opens).
When the door opens and the lights are on, it beeps.
good luck.

This sounds like a good way, but he already has one factory installed.
You'll need to troubleshoot it on why it doens't beep. Make sure the fuse for it is in good condition. Make sure none of the wires that goes to the doors fell off (the one that are in the door jamb to trigger the interior lights or beeper).

Your problem is caused by the recall on your vehicle, take your car into a honda dealership. They will replace your switch which is probably burnt by now. It's called the "combo light switch recall", they'll know what you mean. Good Luck.

Re: Headlight reminder beeper (BS 22)
the beeper you can buy from walmart...
does it have 2 positives and one ground?
1 goes to the headlight...
1 to the ignition (or windshield wiper)...
and one to the ground?
