Hi, my CD changer/player stopped working. I have the 6-disk cd changer in the dash and every time I press the CD button the changer tries to do something but then just gives me this error ere1. Shoudl I attempt to take the CD changer out somehow? My car is not under warranty anymore so I'm basically SOL if the changer is bad. Can somebody please help?

Are you using burned CD's?? I've read that this may lead to ERE1 errors

Yes, but I can't even eject now! What should I do? A 02 Acura shoudl be able to read burned CD's shouldn't it!

Hey there, same thig happened on my '01 cl-s. i didn't have any burned disc's loaded. usually the error code would clear if i shut the power off then back on. after a couple of months it wouldn't reset so... i used the tried and true method of a good smack on the console to get the cd player working again. then had the radio replaced under warranty.
i've seen quite a few posts regarding the same complaint. it's probably like the tranny problem "only a matter of time until failure"

Mine had this ErE1 problem--I had three discs in there, two that were burned & one from the library with a label on it. Could not see any disc stuck trying to come out when I looked, so I tried hitting (and kicking!) the right side and pushing power and eject repeatedly, which someone suggested. Then I read somewhere else to disconnect the black battery cable, pump the brake to drain the power, then turn the car and radio on and enter the radio code, which I found on a card with my owner's manual. DON'T DO THIS UNTIL YOU MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE FIRST. It worked!! I pushed eject and all three discs came out.
