basically, the B20 has weaker sleeves, which may not hold up for too long, although 8000rpm should be okay on the sleeves. it will probably net you about 10whp. either block will need mods to support 8000rpm for long. such as main cap girdle, ARP rod bolts, just to name the basics.

I'd really like someone to have proof of this just once. As far as i'm concerned this is a bandwagon/rumor type thing.

yea......i agree with you pal....there's a lot of champions using B20B blocks.....
but what i want is why most of tuner and racer prefer to use B18A/B rather than B20B?

I ASSUME its easier to sleeve a b18 than a b20 with its 1 piece paper thin cylinder sleeves.

haha you should make sure you have actually SEEN both sets of stock sleeves (and know something about sleeving) before making a comment like this to avoid looking like a dumbass

I have seen b20 stock and b18 stock sleeves, but it is true i know nothing about sleeving and i am a dumbass, BUT i have seen with my own eyes both sets of sleeves

I'm not a complete idiot (although i may have come across as one) i have done work to both blocks, perhaps my hypothesis came off as fact and i apologize.

To add something if I may, b18a/b are a dime a dozen compared to the 700-800 price tag for the b20, also when you talk with most sleeving companies they normally charge about 100 bucks more for the sleeving of a b20 block, again i am assuming this is because of the design of the b20 sleeves (please dont flame i said ASSUMING).
