Which one seems to go the most miles on the average without problems? I heard a story the other day of one going 340k miles but didn't get the size or description. How does the 1.6L rate?

I beat the **** out of my D16Z6, she's got 252,500+ miles on her, and I can't break her for the life of me. Throttle body gasket and ignition coil have gone out, but even the ******* original clutch just recently exploded (shrapnel everywhere...thank God my flywheel was okay ).

My vote goes for the Z6 .

Stock Y7 with close to 130k on it and the last 50k of that have been boosted at 8-10psi. Tough little guy to say the least.

I don't think any single Honda engine is necessarily more durable than another . . . it's all in how the car was driven and maintained.

My D16A6 has 241,000; a local autocrosser's D16A6 had 291,000 on it by the time it blew up. I've seen a D15B2 with 420,000 on it. I've also seen an F22A1 with over 1,000,000 on it

I beat the crap out of my 1.5L CX engine with 140k every friday and saturday night, and some days in between. Only thing that ever needs replacement is my clutch. I havent even changed my oil in like 12k and it still wont break.

I'll agree with that, as much as I've tried I never got one to totally not run anymore.

My friend's mom has an automatic 1988 Civic LX with 347k miles on it.

The timing belt snapped the other day pulling out of her house, we raplaced it and it runs great again, A/C and everything.

Most definatly the d. An unmodded d15b1 in my 91 hatch had like 252,000 miles on it when i got it. We put it in another 88 hatch when i did my motor swap like 5 years ago. the lady who drives that car puts like 100+ miles a day on it. So it has well over 300K on it, and still on the stock timing belt.... That should be worth something?

Pretty much any engine will last a long *** time given its maintained properly and not modified.

i recently took a d16a6 apart that was a students engine...they threw the rod on the number 3 cylinder.Metal/Shrapnel was all over the place including the sump, oil pick up,even part of the main girdle was broken. There was also a hole threw the oil pan caused by this.I asked him what happend, and he said its running funny.I couldnt believe it.This engine was still running. That just proved too me how indestrubtable these things are.

GSR in my opinion, has decent amount of torque decent price and havent had too many problems with them. I like the trans gears not too short nor too long b16,itr short(ls long).so thats my vote. But if i had more money def. the ITR is the best i'd say.

ok guys id like a moment of silence. after just over 300,000 miles my, crx dx 1.5b2 motor finally threw a rod out the block, and it was a good motor, took a beating that killed three trannys. the little 4 banger stayed solid and hung in strong from the assembly plant in suzuka japan till the day it died. It had seen so many friends, alternators, starters, trannys, intakes, head gaskets come and go. it died two weeks ago with 300,154 miles on it, may you rest in piece you prized little motor. we will all miss your dependability
