If it's supposedly the intake, it's not. It's the throttle body's butterfly scraping whenever it opens for air. The throttle body obviously opens when you accelerate, so is it when you accelerate?

same problem here! The whistle noise starts when my car idles! If it runs I doubt you can here it if you have an aftermarket exhaust!
Hold on lemme check..I think it is the throttle body!

it should be the throttle body! When you look on your engine bay! There should be a sensor plug on top of the TB! Right next to it, you should see a screw! Get a flat head and turn it either left and right to adjust it!
Do this while ur car is running! Play with the adjustment and it should lower the whistle noise! You just got to play with it! Just dont fuc!@# up the screw w/ the flat head!

Check the tubing the runs from the intake to the valve cover. If thats pinched at all it could cause a whistle noise. Make sure the tubing is good. Then if that checks out I would move on to the intake manifold and see if thats the cause. Intake cleaner is always good while your in there. theres an adjustment screw as well that you can try.

Hard to say its coming from the throtle body. So you removed the hose and checked it. just blow in it to see if theres anything obstructing it.
if not then your going to have to pop your hood and have your car running to pippoint where the noise is coming from.
The idle screw will only adjust your idle speed. I dont think thats the problem from what I'm hearing. You said you hear the noise throughout the rpm band?
Have a friend help you out with this. have him sit in your car and rev your engine and you try to hear where the noise is coming from. Its probably a leak from somewhere. Just keep looking around and you will probably find it.
I remember my anti-lock system was squeaking because it came loose. I had to tighten it down again. squeak was gone. So its hard to say what the noise actually is unless I heard it.
Oh ya check your belts to. if they are not tentioned correctly and are slipping they will definetly cause a high pitch squeak.

Re: engine make wierd whistle noise (Fooser)
so im having a similar problem i think.. its a 2000 integra gsr sedan.
heres some videos of when its cold, and after its warmed up..
I really need help figuring out whats making the whine in the engine.
Any help is great
This is Cold engine.
This is warmed up
It seem like it comes and goes sometimes and maybe not as loud sometimes..
it had had recent timing belt changed maybe 10k or so ago and trans flush..All service as been kept up to date.. 114000 miles and runs great..
ps i did a search and this thread is the only one i found on this topic back from 2002.. it does not look like anyone came to a conclusion on what it is.. plz help

Re: (civicdreamin)
Yeah I'm not a PM kind of guy, sorry. Haven't quite figured that out yet.
Fast Idle Thermo valve, it regulates idle during cold temperatures to warm you up quicker. I'm assuming you have a B-series, so it's likely you have a FITV. It should be the unit attached under your throttle body, there's small coolant hoses connected to it.
Anyway after you unbolt it and remove the coolant hoses (which might require removing the throttle body first unless you have stringy contortionist fingers), remove the screws from the end cap. You'll see a round white ring with grooves, use a screwdriver and carefully un-twist the cap (mind the spring). The rest is pretty self-explanatory. Then just clean it out with intake cleaner until it's shiny and new, and hope you remembered how it goes together.
If I'm totally off on this let me know, we'll figure something else out.
