just take the drain bolt out, clean the bolt off with a clean rag, tighten the drain bolt then fill it up via the dipstick and you are done.

No filter

... And IF the fluid is brown or smells burnt, drive around a little & change it again. A couple times.

When you drain an auto trans, the torque converter doesn't drain, so you're only changing about 1/3 or 1/2 of the fluid.

recommended changes should occur every 25k-30k miles.

it's about 60 bucks from the dealer. there is a great write-up at http://www.g2ic.com for doing a complete fluid change on a B18a integra, i'm sure the transaxle for the B18b and B18a are quite similiar, maybe some computer differences.

note: you may have to be a member to view this...i'm not sure.

Though the recommended interval is 25K-30K miles, I usually recommend 15K intervals. Fluid isn't that expensive and is easy to change, since there isn't a filter.

As posted above, a single drain and refill isn't going to change all the fluid. If you want to do a more thorough flush, do a triple flush as Jim Blake recommended.

Remember only to use Honda ATF, because of the Z1 additive. I've seen the fluid sell anywhere from $2.50 to $4 per quart. A drain and refill will require 3 qts per change.

At this website it shows how to change the automatic transmission fluid on a B18C1 engine. I have an '01 Teg Ls B18B1. Are the procedures still the same?

Um, yeah. That link shows how to change fluid in a manual transmission. LS vs. GSR should be the same. And on a manual, pretty much all of it drains out.

But we were talking about an automatic. Drain plug is on the bottom somewhere, but probably a little different than the manual. And you fill it thru the dipstick hole.

It's the hole, where the dipstick goes into the transmission. The dipstick is used to check the amount of ATF in the transmission.

ahh my bad, yea that's the link to changing a manual transmission fluid. For the automatic, it's even easier. There's a plug on the transmission casing that a 3/8 socket drive will fit directly in it. Take the plug out and drain, then fill from the dipstick hole like Jim Blake indicated.
