homelink remote garage door opener setup for honda accord
Hi,
I installed a Genie garage door opener for my home and I want to setup the remote garage door opener in my Honda accord. Can you give me the instructions of how to setup that one.
Thanks,
NK.

pick a button that doesn't have anything programmed yet... hold the garage door opener right below the homelink buttons. press and hold the homelink button you want to program, and then press and hold the garage door opener button. keep holding down both buttons until you see the homelink indicator light change how fast it blinks. (it either blinks rapidly at first, then slow once its programmed... or slow, then rapidly. i can't remember.)
EDIT:
if you need to erase a button that is already programmed, hold down the first and third buttons simultaneously until the light changes. this will clear ALL THREE buttons

Re: (philadd)
thanks for the info.
but, as if found out, there is a different process for garage openers using "rolling code". there is a button on the machine itself that you push and within 30 seconds you have to push and hold a button on your homelink untill the light flashes.
hope this helps someone!

MEGA old thread-- but just wanted to thank philadd for how to clear the garage door homelink. ~sold car locally, and would prefer anyone to not have access to my garage.

Re: homelink remote garage door opener setup for honda accord
I just reprogrammed my two vehicles to our new garage door opener. I wasn't able to program them at first because I didn't wait long enough when trying to erase my previous codes programmed to my car's Homelink System.
Basically, to erase any previous codes, you:
1. Hold the two outside buttons of the Homelink system down and count to 25. Make sure you see the red light blink a few times at the end of your count. If the lights don't blink, keep holding until they do!!!
2. Grab the remote that came with the garage door and hold it 2 inches away from Homelink button.
3. Press and hold the remote button and the Homelink button (any one you want) at the same time.
4. The red light on the Homelink with blink slowly at first and then blink fast.
5. DONE!
If that doesn't work, you probably have a button on the actual garage door opener that you have to push.
