Default four wire oxygen sensor -- this normal?

I have a four wire O2 obd1 sensor.

has a green, white and two black wires?

White = signal
Green = heater
1 black = ground
1 black = 12v...

right!?

damn ecu keeps throwing code 41 regardless of how i have it wired up. checked, double checked, triple checked. voltmeter verified. I did have the o2 sensor wired INCORRECTLY when i first got the engine running, thinking it wouldn't fry itself...

I'm guessing i might need a new o2 sensor.

I think I might have one, I'll take a look when I get a chance.

Code 41 is the heater I believe.... I had that code and I had to get a new one.

Any 92-95 Civic(just to make it easier to find one) O2 sensor will work for sure

what's odd is this o2 sensor has TWO black wires...

everywhere I read says there should be black, white, green, and orange.

The Bosch I bought just 4 days ago had 2 black wires as well.

The black wires were both for the heater. The heater can be hooked up either way so the wires are both black.

Then you are left with the O2 signal wire and the sensor ground.

What u need to do is go by the wire colors on the engine harness side, not the O2 side. So if ur running a obd-0 harness, u wont have the side im talkin about. U need to find a obd-1 harness (no CX's) and cut off the matching plug. Then u will have the wire colors that ppl are referring to. If u are converting to obd-1, u must be careful when hookin up a 4 wire O2, because from experience, u can fry the ecu. I did that once and it forever threw code 41.

checked all four wires about five times to make sure all connections were correct.

I have a connector at the firewall to ease the removal of the engine harness.
Then, there's the connector at the O2 sensor.

then there's the soldered wires at the vtecfrog harness.

just made sure they were all connected and grounded the one ground wire...i essentially had a bad ground for the O2.
