Default How much diff between 205 and 215/225 width tires on track/auto-x?

I'm weighing out my wheel/tire options for this years season. A set of new Kosei K1's is gonna run me like nearly $550 for the 15x7's and nearly $650 for 16x7.5's. I'm always seeing people selling their used teg wheels for less than $200. They're of course going to be 15x6.

So two questions:
First, is an auto-x tire like the V700 or Victoracer really going to be that much better with the added size/contact of a 215 or 225 width tire, as opposed to the 205 width tire I'd probably have to stick with on a 15x6 wheel?

And second, is buying some used wheels (and probably not knowing their history) a Bad Idea for auto-x / track duty? Am I smarter to stick with some new wheels that are made for the stress, or is there no way in hell that I'm going to have to worry about stresses on some OE honda wheels, even used?

thanks, 'o masters of the craft!

How much camber are you running? If you are running less then -2.0, then you won't be using 100% of even the 205s.

Depends on the price I guess. I am running a set of TSWs I got used. If I had to do it again .. I would have just paid the extra $300 or so and went with a new set of K1s.

Edit: I regret buying these TWSs becuase they are heavy as hell and don't want to stay torqued. If you can get a good set of 15x6 OE wheels for cheap, I would go for it.

Well, I just happen to have the alignment specs from the alignment I got 3 days ago (after i rolled my car on it's side)

Let's see - now I don't know the first thing about all these settings (FAQ anyone?)
There is min/max/nominal/actual listed, I'm assuming "actual" is the one that counts since it looks like all the others are the same from L/R wheel to wheel:

LF: -0.4
RF: -0.9
LR: -1.1
RR: -1.3

If you can get a good set of 15x6 OE wheels for cheap, I would go for it.
So in otherwords, to my first question, you'd say that the difference between a 205 and a 215/225 is going to be nominal performance gains?

Anyone have any reservations about using used OE wheels for racing? Safety wise? I could go get the K1's, but I'd just assume save a little money if it's nominal performance differences and no safety concerns.

Man .. how did you get more nagative camber in the rear?

So in otherwords, to my first question, you'd say that the difference between a 205 and a 215/225 is going to be nominal performance gains?
Yea. With only around one degree negative camber, you will be riding on the outside edge of the tire most of the time anyway.

Can I change that? I've heard of people doing an "autocross alignment," what all does that involve?
