If the VSS is bad, the cruise control will not function properly or even work at all. I originally swapped the whole cluster trying to fix the speedo issue , but the second cluster also had a bad...

Soldering caused mine to completely stop working also. Get another speedo circuit board at a salvage yard if you can. Another thing, if the VSS is horked the cruise control will not work correctly.

Update...I went to the salvage yard and got a VSS for eight dollars, installed it and my 94 EX is running excellent.

Great info Mad Mike, you hit the nail on the head. I replaced a bad board on my instument cluster and fixed my speedo issue. Just recently my 94 ex started losing power...idle was erratic and speedo...

I had the same problem. It was the Circuit board that connects to the odometer and speedo. I tried to re-solder...didn't work. I went to a pull and pay and swapped the whole instrument cluster, that...

94 EX EGR port cleaning yesterday. Several glogged ports and large carbon build up. All I can say is wow.....like night and day. I'm a noob, but you might be pleasantly surprised after you clean it.

The FAQ has tutorials. I just did this yesterday on a 94 EX, I can see how easily a gas leak could happen and the need to check and re-check for fuel leaks.

My 1994 ex speedo/odo malfunctioned, I went salvage with a whole cluster and it turned out that speedo/odo circuit board was bad also. I tried re-soldering with no success. I picked up a third board...

Note to self.....always check for leaks. EEEk. Learned that one replacing a fuel filter. Thanks for sharing that.
