wrong or defective cv axle. They're always made crudely.. I had the exact same problem. If it doesn't just plop in then it's wrong.

sounds like wrong axle if splines aren't matching up. I had a similar problem.

check your transmission fluid levels to begin with. Also, if reverse doesn't go in, try.. going in first, lol, then going in reverse.
