$63 for the new coil on eBay. Only special tool we used was a c-clip tool to remove the two clips. That was it! Could have made life a bit easier if we used the pulley tool available At AutoZone. But...

Yes, I jumped the clutch with no success. I got the part off of ebay $63 and went for it this weekend... here is how it played out for those who wanna give it a go....

Well, She's back on the road!
Thanks to everyone who helped out.
Looked like I had neglected the oil leak long enough to where the timing belt was getting funked up. Actually the whole underside...

WOW, great tip. Now that you mention it, the oil leak began back when we did the last timing belt/cam seal. Thanks!!!

I am going to start on my timing belt tonight. I suppose a cam seal and water pump are in order as well. Will post compression afterwards.

BTW: As far as a head gasket goes, I have heard that...

Yes! You certainly deserve kudos as well!!
It is weird though how I crank the motor fine with no valve clatter and the belt, cam gear and diz line up. Meanwhile the timing belt is missing 3 or 4...

*** Well, I have to hand it to you RonJ@HT... I got as far as removing the valve cover and right away I could see that the timing belt was not right. I have had an oil leak for some time now...

Good point. I said "seemed" because it was my brother who checked it for me and I know he did not remove the timing cover... he used something to see when the piston was at the top of it's stroke and...

I just wondered if there was a way to test it before I bought a non-returnable part off of ebay. Piece of mind I guess....

I did buy the car new in 93 and live in Central Florida so I am sure...

(Did you mean the starter?) Engine cranks fine, just won't fire up.

Yup, checked it and it seems good. Also checked compression. Its good too.
I am now thinking ECM?

Just tried a new distributor. Still does not fire up. Same spark as before.
I am truly at a loss.

just checked again... spark is white with a greenish tinge. Depends on the plug. Plugs are kinda old but I wouldn't think that they would fail so abruptly.

No, no check engine light....

though I just check fuel pressure coming out of fuel filter- was about 35 (I was told this is about right, maybe a touch high)
