Re: 05 Civic Hybrid CVT Won't move in any gear

There is no way your transmission could have been properly serviced. Even under heavy abuse, the most that should happen is that the CVT belt actually breaks or the CVT clutch wears out.

Re: 05 Civic Hybrid CVT Won't move in any gear

I'm still convinced that it was either one of the internal seals or the "start" clutch that has gone bad. Looking at the 2001-2005 service manual, there are several possibilities.

Re: car is running rough

Did you try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to clear the ECU and force it to "re-learn" how to make the engine idle? Remember that each time you change a variable, you have to...

I've finally got around to trying this today. The symptoms were the same.

Re: EP3 Fog Light problem

The loose connector attached to the blue wire. What is it used for? It isn't actually connected to anything.

The connector I'm referring to is the one about an inch or two above the brown...

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

I think engine management for 3psi is unnecessary if your car is running rich already.
What other factors am I missing then?

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

I read through the FAQ already months ago.
I've boosted older cars before. I just don't see why everyone is making boosting a seventh gen Civic look like rocket-science with unnecessary steps....

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

^^^You are insulting my intelligence now. Ya'll listing a whole lot of overrated mods just to install a simple turbo-kit. I was merely asking for the justification of your choices.

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

I'm not fully understanding your sentence.
I'm talking about small levels of boost from a turbo (like 5psi).

I'm still trying to fully understand the merits of a return fuel system. Why does...

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

I just want to improve my engine's response during operation at the lower RPMs. I just want a simple low boost setup that will allow me to climb hills faster from a complete standstill. I don't...

Re: 02 civic ex ticking noise (video)

Thanks.

This thread keeps reminding me that I need to schedule an appointment to have my valves adjusted too when I get around to replacing my head-gasket and head studs

Re: 02 civic ex ticking noise (video)

I don't have my service manual with me, but your figures look correct from what I (think I) can recall. Your mechanic can easily set the proper gap with a feeler gauge.

The correct way for him to...

Re: 02 civic ex ticking noise (video)

Your case in the video sounds extreme, but not detrimental as though something is wearing or burning out. You'll appreciate the noticeable restoration in engine performance once they've been...

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

That's definitely too much work and not worth my money.

I wonder if I can get away with boosting my D17A2 with a Toyota CT9 turbo without an intercooler or engine management setup. I just want...

Re: 02 civic ex ticking noise (video)

Yes it can wait. The tappets for the valves usually slacken up together.

If it was a case where the problem was with only one valve, then you would have to go get that fixed right away.

Re: D17 turbo + Internals- How much boost?

Here in Jamaica, some of our civics come equipped with the D15Y4 and the D16W9 engines with the same plastic intake manifold instead of the D17A engines with those pencil-thin connecting rods. What...

Re: Help SRS 5-2 code on 2005 civic lx

An SRS light can also be caused by dirty contacts for the switch on the driver's seat belt buckle. I took mine apart weeks ago to clean it, causing the light to go away. Months later, the issue...

Re: K20 swap or newer car?

Does anyone know if a R18A/R20A engine and gearbox swap is as straight-forward as a K20 /K24 swap for the seventh generation Civics? I'm looking at alternatives to boosting my D15/D17A2 engine for...

I can understand your reasoning for wanting to run more boost. I understand your reasoning for wanting the Y8 manifold.

What I could never understand was the need for a return line to the fuel...

During driving, the moving air would blow the...

Incase you didn't know, your cigarette lighter is connected directly to your battery via the "accessory" switch operated by the key, so it will always say the same voltage (so you can give your Fluke...
