I was reading to find out if the starter would work with my Honda Pilot 3.5 Vtec engine. Can I use the starter or no way?

Valve adjustments on Honda Pilot 3.5 Vtec

The manual says to adjust when they make noise. The dealer service agent said they can tighten too and need adjusting. They sound great at 90k.
