Have a look at the gasket while it's off, if it's in good shape then re-use it! Put it in a big ziploc bag do it doesn't dry out on ya! It's one of those things tho, you already have the cover off...

Do you have a rev limiter at 6-1/2k? I've not got my ecu chipped with a baseman yet and it cuts out at 6-1/2k!

Ok, I was just going by what the guy said when he did the wiring. Maybe I got it confused. I just went and pulled out the ecu and according to the pics the ecu is obd1.
Maybe the motor requires obd2...

ya thats what i found out also, problem is mine is obd2, all the info i found doesnt say how to decipher between obd1 p75 and obd2 p75. However, I have a jumper harness which means its obd2 converted...

I just pulled mine off with a puller, it broke on me and had to use a small pry bar to carefully remove the remaining pieces and just pushed the new one back on ! Being very careful in every step!

I've seen all kinds of issues with aftermarket alarms, I would look at that a little closer! Maybe by disconnecting the alarm wire it put it into safe mode or something! Just a thought!
