Re: 98 accord LX won't start up right away in the heat

An absolute maybe... The symptoms you describe are indicative of the main relay. Could it be other things? Of course. But I would start trouble shooting at the main relay.

In your search will...

Re: 98 accord LX won't start up right away in the heat

Very common problem in Hondas. Main relay is under the dash just to the left of the steering column.

Lot's of information on the web with pictures and diagrams that are much more helpful than a...

Re: 1998 Accord 4 cyl, dies for no reason

David,

Electricity must travel from the battery back to the battery, via a ground wire. A loose ground wire acts on the system just as removing one of the battery terminal wires. It breaks the...

Re: 91 Accord radio stays on after key is turned off

Ignition switches in the column go wear out. when they do the key can come out without turning the switch all the way to the off position. If it real bad you can start the car, and pull out the...

Spades,

It could be several things. Not to be unhelpful, but without some testing, it is hard to say. So all this is a wild azz guess and a few things to test. going to go from easiest/quickest...

Re: 1990 Honda Accord LX

What have you done? IACV, FITA, and TB clean? EGR port and valve clean? Have you bled the air out of the cooling system?

It could be a number of things. Narrow it down for us a bit.

Re: 1993 Accord - blown distributor and blown ECU fuse

If you are only blowing fuses at (which is a good thing. the circuit is protecting itself) highway speeds, then I would suspect a current surge at high rpms/load. That would indicate that the...

Re: Car suddenly charging at 15 volts!?

Sounds like a bad voltage regulator. Was it a new part in March? Can you pull it and have it bench tested?

Re: Electric Issues - Not the Alternator or battery

Cheerios,

You know that it could be one of a million things? And as you stated E-gremlins are a PIA.

That being said, let me take a few wild swings. '91 Accord... Older cars can have issues...

Re: 94 Accord DX - ECU Glitch? Idle Surge and Hesitation only sometimes

The '94 Accords have a blue two pin connector in the front passenger foot well under the glove box on the far right. Use a wire or a paperclip with one end in each female connection. This will...

Re: 94 Accord DX - ECU Glitch? Idle Surge and Hesitation only sometimes

Bleed the coolant system or air. Air pockets interfere with the IACV and FITV operation, both of which control idle. It is a no cost fix that only takes a few minutes and may correct the surging...

Re: Very hard to start in mornings

When the car won't start, check for spark at the plug. All the ideas so far are good suggestion and things that should be checked. But if you are at a "no start" and not a "difficult start" then I...

Re: First Honda: Question on Operating Temp and RPMs

I am no expert on the ATF question. I have always heard that it must be Honda ATF or problems would develop. If others have used ATFII with success, I am not aware.

My recommendation is to go...

Obviously it could be a lot of things. Common causes in the fuel system would be the Main Relay under the driver's dash that controls the signal to the fuel pump. The fuel pump itself. ...

You have no spark at the plug, and how was this tested? ...

Re: F23 crank oil inlet?

The short answer is oil galleries in the crank. A more detailed answer, although not Honda engines, is here:
